Fees, Rebates, and Referrals

Session Fee:  $225 for a 50-minute consultation. You do not need a referral to see me if you would like to attend privately (full fee with no rebate). For clients eligible for a Medicare rebate (see below for more information about rebates), this is an out-of-pocket gap of $87.95 with the Medicare rebate of $137.05).

If you would like a longer session, you may book a double session. However, please be aware Medicare will only provide one rebate per day, irrespective of the length of the session.

Bulk-billing:  I am not able to provide bulk-billing and I encourage you to speak to your GP about bulk-billed or free mental health services which may be available to you.

Face to Face Offsite Fee: $225 for self-managed NDIS clients (or current NDIS scheduled rate for NDIS plan managed clients) for a 50-minute consultation and travel time is payable per hour block at that same rate. For example, if travel time to you is half an hour, I will charge for two hours (for the 50-minutes consultation and the travel time there and back which is an hour I will not be able to see other clients). I will generally not travel longer than half an hour from Hobart CBD. However, please feel free to contact me to check this if you would like to.

Additional Services (this does not include progress letters to your GP which are included in your session fee): If you request additional letters or reports which are not completed during your session time, these will be charged at current rates recommended by the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Any request for additional services must be made in writing and I will send a written quote for these services for you to make a decision about whether you would still like me to provide those services. If you agree to the quote in writing, I will provide them once I have received payment for same. Please don’t hesitate to discuss this with me in your session.

Rebate Options

You may be eligible for rebates through Medicare or your Private Health Insurance.

Medicare: You may be eligible for a rebate through Medicare (current rebate of $137.05) if you are referred through the Better Access scheme under a Mental Health Care Plan by your GP or psychiatrist. We are able to accept referrals via fax on 07 3124 9894 or via Medical Objects.

Private Health Insurance: You may be eligible for a rebate through your Private Health Insurance. Contact your private health insurer to confirm whether you are eligible for a rebate and how much your rebate will be. It is your responsibility to ascertain whether you are eligible for a rebate through your private health insurance as I do not have access to this information.

NDIS: I am able to work with plan and self-managed NDIS clients. Please contact me to discuss your needs further. The fees for NDIS are set by the NDIS.

Late Notice Fee

We have Late Notice and Nonattendance Fees of $130 which are payable with less than two business days’ notice that you will not be attending your appointment (or if you do not 'show' for your appointment). There are no Medicare or Private Health Rebates provided for the Late Notice fees (this is not within our control). Please read the Appoinment and Attendance Policy and Processes for further information here
